Muscle Milk Gone Sour

There has been a lot of talk in the last year or so regarding Muscle Milk (from Cytosport), a protein drink that tastes absolutely AMAZING, and one of it’s ingredients GCC (or Glycocyamine), which they claim is a precursor to Creatine and would therefor increase your bodies natural production of this coveted macronutrient.
The trouble is that GCC turns out to be highly toxic and damaging to both your heart and your nervous system, making you more likely to die of a heart attack, and suffer from Alzheimer’s. Which the last time I checked, was kinda the opposite of what we fitness types are trying to go for.

I am very very sad, as I LOVE muscle milk. It is BY FAR the greatest tasting protein drink ever created. I don’t mean that lightly. I have been downing chalky, bitter, over flavored protein drinks for over 12 years, and I have never had anything come close.
The saddest part is that GCC is completely irrelevant to the product. They don’t need it. they could toss it out tomorrow and their sales would likely rise significantly. Everyone I know who stopped drinking it because of the GCC, only did so for health concerns … and it was a hard one. It’s that good.
I urge Cytosport to wake up and get with the program. People don’t by your product because they think the GCC will help them gain more MASS. They buy if for the taste, and because the protein quality is high. Why do you insist on driving your product into the ground?
